Second Broward Powerball winner claims prize

A second Broward County winner has been identified from Wednesday’s unusual Powerball results, in which four Broward players scored prizes of at least $1 million each on the same night — with all tickets purchased from the same retailer.
Florida Lottery officials on Friday identified 40-year-old Pedro Rivera of Weston as the second $1 million winner, joining Mario Chiong, 67, of Pembroke Pines, whose name was released a day earlier.
Two other winners — one a $1 million winner, the other a $2 million winner — remain unidentified. The winning tickets were purchased at Publix grocery stores located in Pembroke Pines, Weston, Plantation and Coral Springs.
Rivera said Friday that he plans to continue working as a corporate finance director (he declined to reveal where) and that he would set aside a large chunk of his winnings for his first child, a daughter expected to be born next month.
“That’s priority number one,” said Rivera, who also planned to invest some of the money, possibly in real estate.
The winning numbers were: 7, 10, 14, 33 and 57, plus the Powerball number of 18.
